How it works

quiz, bench and witnessed badges · checkpoints
Quiz badges
Short lessons, then a 10-question quiz - all opened right here from the badge card, with Proceed to next when each one ends. 80 % passes. Retake as often as you like; your best score counts. The kiosk awards these by itself.
Bench badges
Step-by-step instructions on the kiosk or here. Tick the boxes as you go, then submit a photo of your work right from the card — a mentor reviews it and passes or fails it.
Witnessed badges
Each card lists its requirements as boxes, with a lesson and a video where there is one. Practise until you can tick them all, then a mentor who holds the badge watches you. Event Ops starts with a short quiz.
Checkpoints
Tiers 1, 2 and 3 each open with a checkpoint flight. The Tier 1 path is short on purpose: six quick parts, doable in one community period, plus Sim Flight (about 5 sim hours of practice is typical, not required). Its card lists the prerequisite badges and ticks each one as you earn it; when they are all done it gets a big green ✓ and you may attempt it with a mentor watching. Pass it and you are on that tier. Passing never grants permission to fly: every campus flight is filed on Request to fly at least 24 h ahead and approved by Mr. Burr. Bonus badges are extra, any time, and don’t count toward your total — Mentor is for Tier 2 pilots.
